That was something I do not want to go through again, so as a treat to myself, I purchased this product and I couldn't be happier. It looks good, works great, I don't plan to ever have to run the self-cleaning cycle and the horrid manual cleanup that I did last time!

(More customer reviews)The well-written instructions tell you to first wipe down the toaster with a wet cloth, and for good reason: it arrives filthy, all covered in dust.
The toaster is of average construction, built like many in this price range with a thin plastic outer case. The case does not get unreasonably hot after a single use but will become untouchable after several repeated cycles, such as the initial three cycles in a row on high recommended by the instructions.
The bright LED display thankfully goes dark several minutes after use. The single LED digit indicates the chosen darkness setting from 1 to 8, and the series of illuminated bars count down during a toasting cycle. Presumably this electronic control will provide consistent results at a given setting.
My unit arrived with one sticky button that took significant effort to push, but after a day it loosened up to nearly normal.
The unit beeps whenever you push a button, and beeps twice at the end of a toasting cycle just before the bread pops up.
After reading several toaster reviews on Amazon, it seems most toasters with a Bagel function don't toast evenly, almost as if the Bagel function is always sort of active. It's the same with this toaster; the side of bread towards the center of the toaster comes out darker than the other side.
I've only used frozen bread so far and the Defrost function works well. The inside of frozen bread does remain slightly cool when using the lowest darkness setting.
Like many 2-slice toasters, the slots aren't quite long enough to easily hold larger slices of store-bought bread. Manufacturers should add one more inch to their slots.
All in all I'd rate this toaster a good value for the price, but deduct one star for uneven toasting. I hope it provides many years of service like my T-Fal kettle has.

(More customer reviews)A thunderstorm knocked out our Breville, which we liked very much, but when I went to replace it I found that the price had increased and shopped for a more economical replacement, settling on this one from Bodum.
Since color had been a problem for others, and wasn't important to us given our neutral kitchen design, I chose black. We could not have been more delighted.
This is a knockout design, both functionally and aesthetically.
Most important, this thing makes predictably wonderful toast: perfect toast, nutty and sweet. It's as if we'd never tasted toast before! Controls are sensibly located, clearly labeled, and easy to read. If you want to conceal the cord, there's a clever way to do it that doesn't intrude on the design. The rubberized surface doesn't attract fingerprints and is easy to clean. Whoever designed this toaster clearly thought about how people used toasters, pondered how to improve the experience, and put that learning to work. Its only shortcoming might be slots that are a tad narrower - but just a tad - than some other toasters, but this is a problem only for those not willing to trim an occasional bagel.
Visitors looking for the toaster in your kitchen may hesitate for a moment, thinking that your Bodum toaster's some sort of new iPod deck -- it's that different (and handsome).

(More customer reviews)This makes the juiciest chicken I've ever tasted. Racking the chicken onto the spit is as easy as it looks on TV. The same goes for removing it when done. Clean up is a snap. There's plenty of room for a plump chicken or a couple of Cornish hens. I haven't tried a turkey yet, but I roasted veggies in the spinning basket. Delicious!
I love the pause feature that allows me to stop the spit from turning so that I can add crispiness to any part of the bird. The pan in the bottom collects the juices. I make soup with it later.
It comes with everything too - gloves, video, chicken ties, basket with lid.
This is one of those purchases that makes me want to tell everybody what a great deal I got. I'd give this product ten stars if I could.

when this small but efficient oven can do everything the big stove
can , only faster. I have learned to buy the small pizza's to fit , cooked frozen pork roast to perfection , bake potatoes and even made golden brown pies. I love it !
I use my Big Convection Kitchen Stove to store pots and pans and
who needs to spend money on electric bills to turn the self clean on when
the base of my 1.2 Liter turbo oven can go directly into the dishwasher or just wipes clean with a damp rag.
I "AIR FRY" potato steak fries crisp with a little cooking spray
in this wonderful machine. The only drawback would be that the manufacture failed to include a cooking chart . I had one left over from my Jet-stream oven or Flavor-wave oven that was mostly made of plastic parts. Both ovens worked well but I was always sending for costly replacement pieces. This OVEN being made of glass as heavy as a large mixing bowl should last for years.

(More customer reviews)KitchenAid finally develped a toaster with the automatic lower and raise features. This was a notable feature on the Sunbeam Toastmaster toaster of the 1950s. I grew up with this toaster and still use it. I purchased another on Ebay for a back up. Anyone who has followed these on Ebay knows how much people value these features. I've been amazed that the toaster companies have not caught on sooner and developed a version which KitchenAid finally has. This toaster has some improvements over it's older predecessor. It has a very nice blue readout of the heating time which is adjustable with the front knobs. It also has wider slots for bagels and English muffins. I made an English muffin last night, and it was perfect. It also has reheat and defrost settings which I have not used yet.
The auto up and down features work well. No more toast jumping out of the toaster. I have read other reviews complaining of the beep informing you of the toast being done. This is no different than my microwave or coffee maker's beep notification. It is not overly loud or long. Just a nice notification beep.
Like all modern toasters with wider slots, the heating elements are further away from the toast, and I suspect the safety requirements have changed, so it takes longer to toast than with my Sunbeam, but it toasts evenly. Unfornately, longer toasting time means slightly drier toast, but it is still good. I've only used mine twice for toast so far. 5 was too dark. I used 4 this morning, which wasn't bad, but I think I'll try 3 next time. It may make the toast a little less dry.
KitchenAid should be touting this toaster, but they just now put the 2 slice version on their website. I emailed them (twice) to ask about it, and they said they did not want to compete with their retailers. C'mon KitchenAid, you can advertise and show your wares without offering to sell them on your site. Just offer links to the retailers who have them. With that type marketing strategy, I would recommend buying this toaster before it goes the way of the Sunbeam. In the mean time, way to go KitchenAid.

I can honestly say that we went through more than 10 toasters of various prices - high and low - half of them made unacceptable toast - and half of them broke while making unacceptable toast - and then we found the Dualit. This was about 5 years ago - in a true panic, I thought I would just go out and buy the most expensive toaster there was - and found this one at williams-sonoma. Sticker shock, but I've recommended it since, to everyone who toasts. And it has made perfect toast since the day we bought it.
It's great - it is really easy to clean. There is no relying on electronics to decide how toasted the bread is - you figure it out and you know forever - about 2 minutes for a piece of toast for wheat bread from the fridge into cold toaster - if second round of toast and toaster is hot, cut it by 25%. The little ticking sound while it's fixing your perfect toast is nice to keep you remembering that you have toast - and when the ticking stops (no cha-ching), you know you are ready.
I have zero regrets and hundreds of absolutely perfect toasting experiences. And we paid full price - this was before amazon got into this market. Dualit is the best toaster in the world -and me? - I am the toaster queen.

CDN Multi-Mount Oven Thermometer Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this based on the Cook's Illustrated review. The first thing I noticed is the hanging hook doesn't fit the heavy racks in our Viking oven. Fortunately the magnet mount works well and I stuck it on the back wall of the oven under the light. The third mounting method is a flip down wire stand. I haven't tried this but it seems like it will be fine for a flat surface like a cookie sheet or pizza stone.
Aside from mounting issues the thermometer seems functional. I'd prefer a bigger more readable model that I can read through the oven window.

The upper rack is so near the top that whatever you cook on it burns on the top. To add to thi wonderfulness, everything also burns that you place in the center or back of the rack. Buy ANYTHING else.

(More customer reviews)When I decided I wanted to upgrade from a two-slice toaster to one that accommodated four slices, I researched the possibilities by visiting many stores, asking friends for recommendations, and reading reviews here. I finally settled on this T-Fal Avante toaster, which comes in shiny chrome metal and black plastic, with wide but short slots for four slices of bread. Perhaps the best feature is its dual toasting system, with two slots working independently of the other two, allowing for different settings and different start times. The slots are angled forward, and have lifts to raise the toast higher out of the slots upon completion of the toasting cycle. The two special settings, bagel browning (single side toasting) and reheat, apply to only one side - two slots - of the toaster. Both sides have independent cancel buttons. The back of the machine is flat, and so can be placed flush against a backsplash. The browning is even as long as both pieces of bread are the same thickness.
The disadvantages of the T-Fal are few, but perhaps important. First, the slots are of average length, sometimes making it difficult to fit bread machine slices inside. The slide-out crumb trays are inconveniently located in the back of the machine. The look is chunky: 12 inches wide and 10 inches deep.
I wish I could say that this model is perfect; however, in twenty years I have yet to find a toaster that works as well as it should. This toaster at least seems to satisfy most conditions.

We live in a small apartment however and lots of counter space was out of the question. So first we got a Dualit, after reading all the reviews. Well, it needs to be prewarmed for best results and it gets incredibly hot to the touch, not too great for little fingers. So back it went and more reviews to read. We ended up getting the Cuisinart Cool Touch and although we worried about the reviews that mentioned an uneven warming problem, it hasn't happened for us. The toaster toasts quickly and well and yes, evenly on both sides--so far both toast and bagels have been great. It's easy to use and clean, has a great "lift the toast higher" feature and doesn't get hot on the outside. Oh and yes, it doesn't take up much room on the counter. So far, the best toaster we've ever had.

Sise is perfect for a small cornerm preheats quickly and cleans up like a dream. I ordered two becase i had such a hard time manhing the first one I had. Now I feel this will also be my toaster oven of choice for long time to come. I'd buy even more if i keep then ready in the basement or perhaps breack down and give as gifts. Friends love mine but can't get what they reall want without purchase larger, more expensive complecated ovens. Very please!

The elements will heat up but the toaster catch is broken and the lights no longer work. This toaster is pretty lightweight and inexpensive, but I expected it to last longer than a year.

(More customer reviews)My wife and I enjoy the Aroma Aeromatic Convection Oven. It cooks food well and is easy to clean. Our only disappointment is that we ordered the AST910DX and received the AST910 which includes the oven, tongs, low rack, and dual rack. The difference is that the DX model includes these extra items (lid holder, skewers, steamer rack, and breakfast cooker). I have attempted to obtain these items from the M.V. Trading Co. but without success.

(More customer reviews)We purchased our first Haier 1700 at Brandsmart for $137.00 three years ago along with an extended warranty. After one year we turned it in for a replacement because the temp. was unstable. The second one lasted two years before the door broke, and the convection fan stopped. I love the price and the size. It accomodates a 1/2 size baking pan. It's great for about a year or two at most.
